Witnessing an 1801 Pennsylvania land grant

Pennsylvania-born signer of the Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation, and the Constitution (1734–1806). Manuscript DS, signed “Robt. Morris Jun.” as witness, one page both sides on vellum, approximately 29.5 x 17, September 1, 1801. A quitclaim deed for a parcel of Pennsylvania land transferred to Matthias Keely. The reverse is also signed by J[onathan] B[ayard] Smith (1742–1812), a Pennsylvania delegate to the Continental Congress. Several wax and paper seals remain intact. In very good condition, with intersecting folds and some minor scattered toning, staining, and soiling. Auction LOA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
