Italian composer (1858–1924) who earned a central place in the operatic pantheon with such repertoire staples as La bohème, Madama Butterfly, and Tosca. ALS in Italian, signed “G. Puccini,” one page, 6.5 x 4.25, no date [envelope postmarked April 28, 1919]. Puccini writes to Mlle. Odette Bourdillon in Geneva. In part (translated): ”Signorina, here is the dedication to apply to Tosca….” Puccini’s opera of the same name premiered at the Teatro Costanzi in Rome on January 14, 1900. Framed and matted together with a photo and the original mailing envelope (addressed in Puccini’s hand) to an overall size of 11 x 20.5. In fine condition, with a few creases (one just touching first letter of signature). R&R COA.
