Partly printed DS, signed “Victoria R,” one page, 15.5 x 12.25, September 13, 1888. A document approving the appointment of George F. Hollis as American Consul at Cape Town, South Africa. The embossed paper seal remains intact at upper left. In very good condition, with intersecting folds (a few small chips and edge separations), mild scattered soiling and toning (mainly at perimeter), and light wrinkling.
