Danish-born silent film actor (1886–1934) who committed suicide by gunshot after he was unable to make a transition to “talkies” and was reduced to running a hot dog stand near the MGM studio gates. Oversized vintage matte-finish 11 x 14 Sinclair Bull photo, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, “To A. J. Paul, Sincerely, Karl Dane.” In very good condition, with marginal loss to one corner, a few creases (one, to background, with tiny emulsion ships, one, light, touching first name), and a few tiny tears and marginal spots.
