Franking signature, “M. Fillmore, M.C.,” on a 5 x 3 postal cover addressed in his hand to S. G. Haven in Buffalo and postmarked January 25. An ink docket on an integral flap dates the item to 1841. In very good condition, with vertical folds (one through last name), light toning (mainly along folds), light “FREE” ink stamp to last name (not affecting legibility), ink smudge touching “r,” and seal holes to flaps (well away from address panel).
