1905: In the midst of revolution, and just weeks after the Potemkin Mutiny, Tolstoy signs for a letter from Britain

Partially printed DS, in English and French, signed “Léon Tolstoy,” one page both sides, 8 x 13, July 8, 1905. An acknowledgement of delivery for a registered letter sent from Bournemouth, England by author and translator V. Tchertkoff. In very good condition, with folds and creases (a few small edge tears), light soiling and handling wear, slight offsetting to ink, and lower portion affixed to card. Tolstoy’s signature is large and dark. Auction LOA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
