Color vintage 5.75 x 3.75 Quantas Airline postcard photo of a sunset along a Singapore fishing village, signed on the reverse in blue ballpoint, “George Harrison” and “John Lennon.” Postcard bears a date notation of “15-2-68,” in an unknown hand. According to a previous listing, these signatures were obtained by a Quantas pilot when John and Cynthia Lennon and George and Patti Harrison flew from London to India on February 15, 1968, to study under Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. The prior year, the Beatles learned Transcendental Meditation, and in early 1968 for varying lengths of time attended a Transcendental Meditation teacher training course in Rishikesh, India, under Maharishi’s supervision. The Beatles left the course before the end for various reasons, with much media attention given to John Lennon’s statement that he left because he came to believe rumors that Maharishi had made sexual advances toward a young woman.
