Italian composer (1858–1924) who earned a central place in the operatic pantheon with such repertoire staples as La bohème, Madama Butterfly, and Tosca. Terrific vintage matte-finish round-format photo, 6.25″ in diameter on its original 9.25 x 12 mount, signed and inscribed in fountain pen on the mount, “A Mr. Joseph Muelter, Souvenir de Giacomo Puccini, New York, Feb. 1907.” Slight trimming to left edge touching a few letters of inscription, faint bend and light toning to perimeter of mount, and a few minuscule scratches and small, unobtrusive spots to image and mount, otherwise fine, bright condition. Seldom encountered in photos of this size! R&R COA.
