Handsome silent screen actor/director who died in 1923 at the age of 31 as a result of alcohol addiction and a morphine habit instigated by the studio Famous Players. He appeared in over one hundred films, most notably Birth of a Nation. Uncommon vintage matte-finish 8 x 10 photo, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “To Louie, Cordially, Wally.” In fine condition, with a few scattered light surface marks. R&R COA.
