DS, twelve pages, 8.5 x 13, March 1, 1940. A document selling the film rights to the musical Strike Up the Band to Loew’s, Inc. for $15,000, signed by lyricist Ira Gershwin, libretto author George S. Kaufman, book author Morrie Ryskind, and, for the estate of composer George Gershwin, Rose Gershwin (his mother; twice). The hit film version of the musical, released in 1940, was directed by Busby Berkeley and starred Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney. A touch of mild handling wear, otherwise fine condition. R&R COA.
