Description

Distinguished American poet (1807–1882) who produced such timeless classics as “Paul Revere’s Ride,” “The Song of Hiawatha,” and “Evangeline.” He was the first American honored with a sculpted likeness in the “Poet’s Corner” of Westminster Abbey. ALS signed “Henry W. Longfellow,” one page, 4.25 x 6, December 9, 1877. Longfellow writes from Cambridge to an unidentified woman. In full: “I shall be happy to see you on Tuesday at 3 o’clock, if that day and hour suite your convenience.” Matted and framed with two period engravings to an overall size of 19.5 x 11.
