ALS signed “O. W. Holmes,” one page, 4.75 x 6, September 9, 1884. Holmes writes to an unnamed gentleman. In full: “My name has been quite often enough in the papers, of late, and I do not wish to have it brought forward in connection with politics at this time.” The matter in question was likely related to the 1884 election, held less than a month later.
