Description

Popular soul and R&B singer-songwriter (1939–1984) who was one of Motown’s most successful artists during that label’s heyday in the 1960s and 1970s, recording such hits as “How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved by You)” and “I Heard It Through the Grapevine.” A day before his 45th birthday, Gaye was shot and killed by his own father during an argument over a business matter. Glossy 8 x 10 Motown publicity photo, signed and inscribed in ballpoint, “To Missy, Love, Marvin Gaye.” In good to very good condition, with heavy scattered creases (one touching last name, not affecting legibility) and a tiny marginal tear.
