Description

Important German artist (1867–1956), one of the pioneering figures of the Expressionist movement, best known for his richly toned watercolors. TLS in German, one page, 8 x 11.5, April 22, 1950. Nolde writes to Mrs. Lohmann. In full (translated): “I remember very well your visit of a few years ago. It is too bad that you are unable to come again. I also regret that I can’t fulfill your wish concerning the cabinet, but we have absolutely no room for more furniture in the house. I wish you everything good and beautiful for your upcoming visit to the USA.” Accompanied by the original mailing envelope. Intersecting mailing folds and a hint of subtle handling wear, otherwise fine condition. R&R COA.
