American boxer (1866–1933) who was the first gloved heavyweight boxing champion of the world, from 1892 to 1897. ALS signed “Jas. J. Corbett,” one page on the correspondence side of a 5.5 x 3.5 picture postcard featuring a color image of Corbett’s home in Bayside, Long Island [postmarked November 19, 191?]. Corbett writes to Frank Bohen in Oneida County, New York. In full: “My Dear Boy: Glad to send you a postal of my home.
