Description

Famous pioneer in abdominal surgery. In 1902 he performed an appendectomy on King Edward VII. Today he is mostly remembered as the physician to the Elephant Man. ALS, one page, 4.5 x 3, no date. Brief postcard to Dr. Reynolds Brown. In full, “I was most pleased to admit one case into the hospital for operation.” Reverse is addressed by Treves to Dr. Brown at the London Hospital. In fine condition, with some scattered light toning and soiling, and some scattered surface loss to address side. R&R COA.
