Handwritten and signed endorsement on a partial self-contained legal document, 6.5 x 8.25, one page, dated December 17, 1787. Document regards a legal case involving a gentleman and the schooner Success. On the middle panel, Paine writes, in part, “And the said James Lovell receiving Liberty of joining the above issue on the appeal,” and signed at the conclusion, “R. T. Paine.” In very good condition, with expected folds, scattered soiling and toning, with a heavier line of soiling affecting just a couple of words of endorsement. R&R COA.
