ALS signed “A. Tennyson,” two pages, 3.5 x 4.25, April 7, 1872. Tennyson writes to the Messrs. Straker & Co. In full: “I forward your two envelopes which arrived this morning; & I send them as I received them, one inserted within the other, & both torn open. As far as I know the contents, wh[ich] were of no importance, were not abstracted. I wish you for the credit of your own firm (for you perceive that both letters are redirected to you) to ascertain how this came about. Both have passed through the hands of Moxon & Co.” A hint of subtle wrinkling and soiling, and a few tiny ink marks to first page, otherwise fine, bright condition. R&R COA.
