TLS signed “C. A. Lindbergh,” one page, 5.25 x 7, embossed Legation of the United States letterhead, February 6, 1928. Lindbergh writes to the Governor of Santiago Province, Dominican Republic. In full: “I regret greatly that my visit in the Dominican Republic is too short to permit a stop at Santiago. I appreciate the warm welcome I have received in this country. There is so much of interest here I wish I might stay longer.” At the time of writing, Lindbergh was on a flying tour of Central and South America following his historic 1927 trans-Atlantic flight.
