Highly regarded American artist (1887–1986) best known for her sensuous, large-scale paintings of flowers, images from the natural world, and the American southwest. TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, June 24, 1972. O’Keeffe writes to Alvord L. Eiseman and Morris Brown College. In part: “I have never seen or heard of the Demuth poster, but when Demuth died, they did not send me any oil paintings he left at home. These I think were sold at auction. I hope Halpert got one with writing on it about love…. Young John Marin worked for Halpert and may have been there at that time and might know about it. Try either his Maine address or his New York City address from the New York City phone book….” Mailing fold lightly touching signature and a tiny marginal spot, otherwise fine condition. R&R COA.
