Author of The Tale of Peter Rabbit, a classic of children’s literature. Partial ALS signed “H. B. Heelis (Beatrix Potter),” one page, 4 x 6, February 26, 1922. This is the final page of a two page ALS to an unknown recipient. Letter reads, in part, “Mr. Meinertzhagen has omitted all mention of two children of Thomas Bayley Potter and Ashton. The eldest son Tom, and Edith the daughter, who became a nun. These two who became Roman Catholics, did not agree very well with the others. Mary Ashton was sister of Benjamin Ashton.” Double matted and framed with a portrait of Potter holding her cats, to an overall size of 15.5 x 14. In fine condition.
