ALS in French, signed “Edith,” two pages both sides, 6 x 8, October 5, 1948. Letter addressed to “My Serge.” In part, “I am already certain not to return to France before March or April. Moreover in the next season I must take part in a play by Archard. It is an old plan which was arranged some years ago. During a dinner party it was settled that this play should take place before my departure…I am very happy with my work here and I feel each day that I am taking a step forward, bridging the gap between the public and myself.
