Original printed program from the “Interscholastic Acting Competition: Scenes from Shakespearean Plays,” 8.5 x 11, four pages, Carl Fischer Music Hall, New York City, April 23, 1953, signed and inscribed in ballpoint on the back cover, “To Rhoda, Marlon Brando.” The competition was evidently staged as a publicity event to coincide with the release of the film Julius Caesar, which featured Brando in the title role. Among the other judges were Brando’s costar in the film, Vanessa Brown, who has also signed, and Joseph L. Mankiewicz, the director.
