German aeronaut and engineer (1868–1954) who built the Graf Zeppelin. Two items: Pencil signature and inscription, “Greetings to Anne Gibbons by Dr. Hugo Eckener,” on an irregularly trimmed 5.5 x 7 page; and an unsigned German postal cover, postmarked 1932, that was flown aboard the Graf Zeppelin. In fine condition, with toning and folds to Eckener and light handling wear to envelope (which has been opened). R&R COA.
