Description

Private secretary to Adolf Hitler (1900–1945?) who guarded Der Führer’s door so strictly that high-ranking officials often complained of their lack of access. Bormann tried to escape from the Führerbunker on May 1, 1945, and was reportedly killed. His body was never found, and some believe he escaped to South America. TLS in German, one page, 8.25 x 11.5, June 18, 1939. An untranslated official communication to the Präsidialkanzlei in Berlin. In very good condition, with a few wrinkles and losses to left edge, confined to margin. The signature, which itself rates fine, is large, dark, and completely unaffected. R&R COA.
