Attractive 1875 appointment for an Assistant Adjutant General

Partially printed DS as president, signed “U. S. Grant,” one page on vellum, 13.75 x 17.5, March 18, 1875. An appointment for Nathaniel H. McLean as Lieutenant Colonel and Assistant Adjutant General. The embossed foil seal remains intact at upper right. Matted and framed with two images to an overall size of 38.5 x 26.5. A touch of mild rippling, otherwise fine, attractive condition.
