VOICES IN HIS HEAD: Mel Blanc script archive with documentation from his estate

American entertainer (1908–1989) who earned a permanent place in the pantheon of American popular culture as one of the most versatile and recognizable voice-over artists in the history of animated cartoons. Among his most familiar “creations” are the voices of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Foghorn Leghorn, Yosemite Sam, Sylvester (and Tweety Bird!), and Barney Rubble. Terrific archive of scripts and related items owned and used by Blanc, mostly 1980s. The items represent the last phase of Blanc’s active career, by which time he was already regarded as a legend—if not the legend—in his field. Included in the archive: More than 30 of Blanc’s personal scripts for a number of cartoons, commercials, and educational productions, various lengths and formats, including The Jetsons, The Jetsons Meet the Flintstones, The Flintstone Kids, Captain Caveman, Kentucky Fried Chicken, and others. Ten are signed on the front by Blanc, many include his handwritten underlinings and highlighted cues, and most (including unsigned examples) bear handwritten authentication from Blanc’s son Noel, who would himself take over many of the voices made famous by his father. One script, which featured both father and son, is signed on the front by Noel. Blanc’s unsigned personal copies of the orchestral parts for “I Tawt I Saw a Puddy Tat,” housed in a manila folder bearing his handwritten ownership inscription. Blanc’s unsigned personal copies of the instrumental parts for “Tiajuana,” bearing his personal ink stamp. An unsigned vintage copy of the sheet music for “Ugga Ugga Boo,” cowritten by Blanc and including his image on the cover. Expected light handling wear, otherwise fine condition. R&R COA.
