Hitler’s personal pilot (born 1897). During the final days of World War II, Baur tried to convince Hitler to let him be flown out of Berlin; Hitler refused and thanked Baur for his long, faithful service. Baur then attempted to flee Berlin, and lost a leg in the attempt. A prisoner of the Russians until 1955, he died in 1993. Ten items: six photos ranging in size from 5 x 4 to 7 x 5, each signed in ink; British FDC, signed in ink by Baur and Ernst Zindel; souvenir typescript from Baur’s biography, signed in ink; and two TLS in German, 1980–81, to a fan.
