Description

Go west, old man: “I should like the California tour very much; but ... the report of my visit to America is unfounded”

ALS signed “G. Bernard Shaw,” one page, 3.5 x 5.5, personal letterhead, no date. Shaw writes to Curt Freckel in Massachusetts. In full: “I should like the California tour very much; but unfortunately the report of my visit to America is unfounded. It is a hardy annual, that report—indeed it sometimes produces several crops in the year but it is never true. Believe it when you see me at Providence House—not sooner. The cookery book has just arrived, many thanks.” Matted and framed with an unsigned photo to an overall size of 17.5 x 16. A touch of mild soiling and handling wear, otherwise fine condition. R&R COA.
