Cartoonist (1885–1954) who created the durable daily comic strip Mutt and Jeff, which ran from 1908 to 1982 and which is generally regarded as the first of its kind. Original artwork for a Sunday Mutt and Jeff strip featuring Jeff in a tennis match with tennis great Don Budge, ink on artist’s cardstock, 25.25 x 17, September 19, 1948, signed in the final panel, “Fisher.” A hint of subtle scattered soiling and a small spot of adhesive residue in final panel, otherwise fine condition.
