Description

Responding to an Edwardian stage mother: “It would be nice to me to have a child of yours in ‘Peter Pan’”

LS signed “J. M. Barrie,” one page, 5.5 x 7, personal letterhead, September 14, 1927. Barrie writes to Miss Mary Jerrold. In part: “It would be nice to me to have a child of yours in ‘Peter Pan’ though I don’t know anything about vacancies, and as Mr. Vaughan at the St. James Theater has all the arrangements for small parts in his hands would you mind writing to him who I am sure he will do what he can. I wish I could have seen you in the little play.” Accompanied by the original mailing envelope. In fine, clean condition. R&R COA.
