Jimi Hendrix.” Hendrix adds a heart next to his signature, followed by “to your sister.” Accompanied by a letter of provenance from Jerry written in 1992 explaining how the Hendrix letter was obtained. Letter reads, “In November of 1968, my sister Melinda had a flight from New York to L.A. On the flight roster of important people was the name Jimi Hendrix. After the flight had taken off, she introduced herself & told him she was a fan of his & had a brother that really liked his music also. But she was too embarrassed to ask for his autograph. As the flight neared its end, she finally asked him but he said he was a little busy right then, he was sitting with another man talking business. As he was leaving the plane, he went up to my sister and apologized for being a little short with her and said give me your brother’s address and I will send him my autograph. A few days later I received a letter and autograph from the Jimi Hendrix. I have kept & cherished the letter ever since. Now I am entrusting it to Larry Gatpandan on this day 7-18-92.” Intersecting mailing folds, some light creasing and wrinkling, and very faint, unobtrusive areas of toning, otherwise fine condition.
