Eminent French artist (1869–1954), most closely associated with the Fauvist movement, best known for his colorful paintings, fluid drawings, and bold, distinctive cut-paper collages. Two bold vintage ink signatures, “H. Matisse,” on an off-white 3.5 x 2 card, bearing a Spanish postage stamp showing Goya’s painting La Maja desnuda.
