Confederate ranger whose guerrilla band specialized in attacking and disrupting Union supply lines. Mosby’s nickname, the “Gray Ghost,” was derived from his clandestine attack tactics. Very rare vintage sepia 2.5 x 4 carte-de-visite photo by Wolff’s Gallery of Alexandria, Virginia, signed under his image in black ink, “Jno. S.
