After the war, Fort McPherson in Atlanta, Georgia, was named in his honor. War-dated DS, signed “Jms. B. McPherson, Brig. Genl. & Supt.,” one page, 8 x 10, September 22, 1862. Pay voucher issued “for materials for U. S. Military R. Road as per Original Bills,” for a total of $4,681.90. In very good condition, with tape repair to complete separation along upper horizontal fold, resulting in some slight paper loss, staining along folds and light wrinkling. Scarce in any form.
