Lot of two items: 1) Personal check, 8.5 x 3.25, filled out in type and signed by Gable, payable to himself for $300.00, February 17, 1948; 2) TLS, signed “Vivien Leigh,” one page, 5 x 6.5, Ritz-Carlton Boston letterhead, March 9, 1963, responding to a fan. In part: “It was most kind of you to write such a charming letter. I am delighted to known that you enjoyed ‘Tovarich.’” The items are matted and framed together with an unsigned 18 x 15.5 photo to an overall size of 26.75 x 33. The check is in very good condition, with a 2″ tear (away from signature), and vertical folds and punch and ink cancellations touching signature. The letter is in fine condition, with slightly irregular ink flow to signature (which remains fully legible). Oversized. R&R COA.
