Superb, character-filled carte-de-visite photo of an older Lee, 2.5 x 4, signed in ink on the image, “R. E. Lee.” The reverse bears a contemporaneous ink notation in another hand, “Apr. 15, 70”; Lee died on October 12 of that year. A touch of mild scattered soiling and a few tiny, very faint spots to background, otherwise fine condition.
