Phillipines honor their liberator

American general and Medal of Honor recipient, who was Supreme Commander of Allied Forces in the Southwest Pacific Area during World War II. He led the defense of Australia, and the recapture of New Guinea, the Philippines and Borneo. He was poised to invade Japan in November 1945 but instead accepted their surrender on September 2, 1945. Block of four four-cent Republic of the Philippines postage stamps honoring MacArthur, 2 x 3, signed in the top border in black ink, “Douglas MacArthur.” In very fine condition. R&R COA.
