The master printer during the Revolutionary War

Important colonial-era American printer and publisher (1749–1831), second in renown only to Benjamin Franklin. In addition to authoring a massive History of Printing in America, one of the classics on the subject, Thomas also fought at Lexington and Concord. Manuscript DS, one page, 8.75 x 3.5, Worcester, April 24, 1788. A receipt for “the sum of seven shilling and sixpence in full for Mags. delivered Capt. Tilley Rice to the 10th inft.” Faint folds and slightly irregular right edge, otherwise fine condition. R&R COA.
