Influential poet (1875–1926) who takes a place among the most highly regarded figures in early modern literature. AQS in German, one page, 8.75 x 5.5, February 1, 1907. A quotation written on the island of Capri, which roughly translates: “There exists one form of Existence: to become. Nothing remains still with God; He always wants more good to be done. Religion is progress.” Vertical fold through signature, show-through from writing on reverse, small textual stain, and sheet tipped along the top edge to a larger sheet, otherwise fine condition.
