Vintage fountain pen signatures, “Babe Ruth” and “Lou Gehrig,” on an off-white 5 x 4 album page. Collector’s notation at bottom reads, “Aug. 28, 1928. The Yankees played the Cleveland Indians that day, winning 8 to 5. The Yankees repeated as American League champions in 1928, fighting off the resurgent Philadelphia Athletics, and swept the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series. Babe Ruth hit .625 with 3 home runs in that series, while Lou Gehrig hit .545 and belted 4 dingers. In fine condition, with a light shade of overall toning and a staple to right edge. Many would consider Ruth and Gehrig the two greatest who ever played, with the remainder having both in their top five, nevertheless this lot appeals to both Yankee and baseball fans with this great combination. Accompanied by a letter of grading from PSA/DNA grading both signatures a 9, COA Steve Grad/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
