American cartoonist (1913–1973) best known as the creator of Pogo, whose offbeat humor and sly political commentary earned it a place among the most beloved strips of all time. Original television-themed artwork for a daily Pogo strip, ink on artist’s cardstock, 17.5 x 6.5 (partially affixed to a same-sized piece of cardboard), March 3, 1952, signed in the final panel, “Walt Kelly,” and additionally signed and inscribed in the blank lower margin, “Thanks to Ed—from Walt.” In fine condition, with mild toning, pinholes to top margin, and usual marginal notations.
