Legendary organized crime leader (1902–1983) who led the notorious “enforcement” syndicate Murder, Inc., which emerged in the early 1930s as successor to the warring Prohibition gangs and the old-line Mafia and continued to operate into the 1950s. Personal check, 6.5 x 2.75, filled out and signed by Lansky, payable to The Horace Mannikin for $50.00, November 26, 1948. Lansky's youngest son Paul attended the prestigious Horace Mann High School in NYC.
