Description

Unique Mitchum reportrait

One-of-a-kind, original 1959 “Reportrait” consists of a stippled portrait of Mitchum, 14 x 17, by George Haessler, along with Mitchum’s own handwritten and signed philosophies regarding two areas. In part, On Acting: “Acting I regard as a popular mirror of experience - sometimes actual and often synthesized. In it’s execution it should strive for the same meaning as should music namely the search for common response in its audience.” On Records & Books: “Books , as records of thought and conclusion reveal their intent through their value as instruments of stimulation to the progressively fertile and morally balanced intellect.” Signed by his image in red fountain pen, “Robert Mitchum, Detroit, 22 Sept. ‘59.” In fine condition, with a few traces of mild toning and reportrait affixed to a slightly larger black sheet. R&R COA.
