Yates and Robert Fulton, in which Yates is “bound unto Robert Fulton…in the sum of Six Hundred dollars lawful money…The condition of this obligation is such that if the above…shall pay to the above named Robert Fulton…the sum of three hundred dollars…or in case the building or fitting of certain Steam-Boats, which are to be built and fitted by the above named Robert Fulton.” Closing paragraph states “This Bond is given to secure the payment of what is unpaid on the Certificate No. 62 in the Hudson River Steam-Boat Stock, issued to the above bounden Joseph C. Yates and the share for which the same is issued - and the owner of such certificate and share shall be entitled to all the privileges specified and reserved in the condition of the within bond, which shall be kept by the said Robert Fulton.” Neatly signed at the bottom in black ink “Robert Fulton.” In fine condition, with small orange seal remnant near right edge.
