Dynamic, pioneering rock ’n’ roll musician (1938–1960), best known for his hit “Summertime Blues,” who met his untimely end at the age of twenty-two in a fatal automobile crash. Scarce partially printed DS, one page both sides, 8.5 x 14, January 14, 1957. A document outlining the allotment of royalty fees to Eddie Cochran and Jerry Capehart for the song “Dark Lonely Street,” including four cents per copy of sheet music sold and fifty percent of mechanical, performance, and foreign rights. Cochran has signed twice in ballpoint on the final page, once as “Eddie Cochran” and once as “[also known as] Edward R. Cochran”; Capehart has signed above in fountain pen. In fine condition, with folds (small marginal edge separation), mild scattered soiling and handling wear, and subtle haloing to Capehart’s signature, apparently from brief exposure to moisture; Cochran’s signatures remain dark and unaffected.
