Legendary American cartoonist (1895–1962) best known as the creator of Popeye. Original ink sketch on an off-white 5.5 x 3.5 card, a humorous “self portrait” as a smoldering cigar, signed and inscribed, “Best wishes to Roman Baltes, Yours to the last ash, Segar.” In fine condition, with a subtle hint of toning and mild soiling and a few tiny spots of artist’s white-out medium.
