Highly regarded British author (1816–1855) best known for the classic novel Jane Eyre. Scarce ink signature and sentiment clipped from a letter, “I am—my dear sir, Sincerely yours, C. Brontë,” on an off-white 4.5 x 1.25 slip lightly affixed to a book page. Accompanied by a nineteenth-century portrait engraving.
