Seminal and highly lauded French sculptor (1840–1917) whose works, including the iconic “The Kiss” and “The Thinker,” earned him a place among the most influential artistic figures of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Striking 10.5 x 8.25 photo of the sculptor’s “Danaïdes,” inscribed in French and signed “Auguste Rodin.” In very good condition, with photo mounted to same-sized piece of cardboard, rather heavy silvering to edges (away from writing and barely touching image), a few small scrapes to background, and a few tiny chips and tears, the writing remaining dark and clear.
