In part (translated): “I agree with your opinion and I will fight rigorously against the elimination of the word ‘provisionary’…. A petition from the elementary school teachers to the House is a good idea, and I would introduce it, but it must be clear in its details: specifications of salaries and other requirements, prices of rents, prices of wood, and other things like that…. I happen to know that this year the king has put at the disposal of needy school teachers 25,000 or 30,000 thalers from his private purse. I have reason to believe that the politically well-disposed, deserving people shall benefit from this fund before those who need to be democratically supported.” The adjoining sheet contains the address panel in Bismarck’s hand.
